General note on data protection

Protecting your data is my top priority. I do not collect, store or process any personal data unless absolutely necessary (e.g. for donations via PayPal). I do not use tracking tools such as Google Analytics and do not analyse individual user profiles. This website can generally be used anonymously and without providing any personal data.

 

Data collection is limited strictly to the essentials:

 

 1. PDF download:

Only the number of times the PDF is downloaded is recorded, in order to measure the reach of the project. No personal user information is stored in the process.

2. Map feature:

The interactive map stores location data in order to make a global network visible. This data is stored anonymously and without any verification, as far as technically possible.

 

3. Donations:

A payment link from the payment service provider PayPal is used for voluntary support of the project.

 

If you support the project via PayPal, payment is processed exclusively by PayPal, and PayPal's privacy and terms of use apply. I only receive the information required to process the payment (e.g. name, email address, amount paid), insofar as PayPal transmits it.

 

Processing takes place solely for payment processing and – where required by law – to comply with tax and commercial retention obligations.

4. Cookies

This website uses only technically necessary cookies that are required for the secure operation and basic functions of the website.

 

No cookies are set for analytics, advertising or marketing purposes. In particular, no tracking services such as Google Analytics or comparable services are used.

This website is operated and hosted on the platform of Wix.com Ltd.

Data transmitted between your browser and this website is encrypted using SSL/TLS technology.

 

6. Petition and newsletter

If you support the petition, the personal data you provide (first name, last name, email address and optional details such as country, organisation or profession) will be processed solely for the purpose of conducting the petition.

To ensure valid consent, a double opt-in procedure is used. Your support is only registered as valid after you have confirmed your email address via the confirmation link sent to you.

 

The data is used exclusively to conduct and document the petition. Personal data will not be published. The total number of supporters may be published in anonymised form. Data will not be passed on to third parties unless there is a legal obligation to do so.

If you additionally consent to receiving the newsletter, your email address will be used exclusively for information about the We Have a Dream project and thematically related initiatives. Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. You can withdraw by email to wehaveadream.world@gmail.com or via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter.

 

The following data is stored in connection with the petition:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • Time of registration

  • Time of confirmation (double opt-in)

  • Optional details (country, organisation, profession)

  • Technical confirmation data to prevent multiple confirmations

 

The data is used exclusively to conduct and document the petition and – if explicitly requested – to send the newsletter. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

 

Personal data is only stored for as long as necessary to conduct the petition or the newsletter, or as required by statutory retention obligations. It is then deleted or anonymised.
